How Much Does Website Redesign Cost?

Budget for the transition from the old site as well as the design and development of the new one.

A redesign cost depends on what can be retained and what must change. Establish whether the problem is content, consistency, navigation, functionality or the platform. Each points to a different scope.

Begin with an inventory

List current pages, forms, integrations and downloadable resources. Identify useful content and pages that attract relevant enquiries. This distinguishes a targeted improvement from a full rebuild.

Budget for migration

Moving content is work even when the design becomes simpler. Old and new fields may not match, images may need preparation and changed URLs need a plan. Ask whether migration, redirect mapping and content entry are included in the estimate.

Review hidden dependencies

Your site may connect to a CRM, booking provider, newsletter tool or analytics setup. Record which accounts exist and who controls access. Rebuilding visible pages does not automatically preserve those connections.

Agree what success means

Choose outcomes you can review: a clearer service structure, an editable portfolio, working mobile enquiries or a simpler publishing process. Commercial results require observation after launch and cannot be inferred from a new design alone.

Phase deliberately

Where the budget is constrained, launch a complete core experience first. It still needs content, functional forms and migration checks. Additional sections can follow when their purpose and content are ready.

Share your current site and those priorities with the agency. A scope based on an audit is more useful than a price based only on the number of pages you want to replace.
